Swansea City Under-18s suffered a third consecutive defeat in Premier League South after going down 3-0 against Tottenham Hotspur.

Goals from Kion Etete and Nile John put the hosts in control during the first half at Hotspur Way, before J’Neil Bennett sealed the points in the dying moments.

Anthony Wright’s side began brightly in North London, with Josh Thomas twice going close to opening the scoring.

First, Spurs keeper Kacper Kurylowicz was quickly out of goal to thwart the striker, before Marqes Muir produced a perfectly-timed sliding challenge to deny him soon after.

Those interventions proved crucial as the hosts took the lead on 20 minutes when Etete poked home Bennett’s cross.

The advantage was doubled 11 minutes later with Etete turning provider with some strong hold-up play before feeding John, who slotted past Tyler Evans.

The Swans looked to respond and were unlucky not to halve the deficit as Thomas was once again denied by Kurylowicz, while Luke Motruk’s fizzing shot clipped the outside of the post.

And Spurs wrapped up a fourth consecutive victory with a minute remaining when Bennett cut inside from the left flank, before curling a shot beyond Evans into the far corner.
