Swansea City head coach Vitor Matos has confirmed Ronald is set to be sidelined for six to eight weeks after suffering a hamstring injury.

The winger picked up the injury during last weekend’s defeat to West Ham United, having been deployed at right-back against the Hammers.

After assessing the issue this week, Matos confirmed his side will be without the Brazilian for a spell.

“Ahead of this game the only news is Ronald felt his hamstring after the (West Ham) game. We assessed him and he’s out for about six to eight weeks,” said Matos.

“That is the news at the moment. It’s not the most pleasant news but we will have to use the squad again.”

There is some positive news for the Swans, with Filip Lissah available again after serving a one-match suspension, while Stephen Eustaquio returned from injury as a substitute against the Hammers.

Josh Key has also returned to parts of team training as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury, although he will not be available for Saturday’s trip to Queens Park Rangers.

“Josh did the first part of the session with us, so he’s on the right side of the rehab but he still won’t be involved this weekend,” he added.

“Apart from that everyone is all good.”

Cameron Burgess also remains unavailable for the trip to west London.
