Swansea City are set to be without Wayne Routledge against Middlesbrough, while Tom Carroll will miss out through suspension.

Routledge had missed the defeat to West Brom and the draw with Blackburn, but it had been hoped he would be available to face Boro.

But head coach Steve Cooper confirmed the experienced winger’s recovery will not quite be completed in time for the weekend.

“I don’t think Wayne will make it,” said Cooper.

“I know last time we spoke we said we were hopeful he would, but I don’t think he is going to be ready for Middlesbrough.

“The rest of the guys are those who are out for a period of time; Joe Rodon and Jordon Garrick.”

The Swans picked up no new injury concerns in the clash with Rovers, although Carroll will serve a one-match ban having been sent off for the first time in his career.

“We have no new injury worries from last night,” added Cooper.

“Tom will serve a suspension and I am gutted for him really, as he had got himself back in the team and was playing well.

“It’s a real kick in the teeth for him, and for us.”
