Russell Martin watches from the touchline

Russell Martin wants Swansea City to show the resilience to bounce back on their travels and deliver a performance for the large number of travelling Jacks at Blackpool today (3pm).

The Swans have won four of their last seven Championship fixtures, and went toe-to-toe with runaway leaders Fulham in midweek, prior to Ryan Manning’s red card.

The Irishman’s dismissal proved a turning point and the Cottagers ran our handy winners in the end.

But head coach Martin wants his players to put that disappointment behind them, and continue a run of positive recent performances, including a win at West Brom in their last away game, when they face a Blackpool side in good form.

Blackpool manager Neil Critchley watches from the touchline

“Blackpool are a team I know well from my time in League One. Neil [Critchley] is another manager who is showing the benefit of time with a group. He’s done a brilliant job and they’ve had a really solid first season back in the Championship,” said Martin.

“They’ll be really organised out of possession and make it really difficult. They pose a threat as well and in possession they can be really brave on the ball.

“I think it’s an important game for us because of the result the other night. It’s important we bounce back in a positive way. We’re excited about it and it’ll be a great atmosphere especially with that many Swansea fans travelling.”
