Russell Martin | Joe Allen and Ben Cabango fit to start

Russell Martin has confirmed Wales duo Ben Cabango and Joe Allen are in contention to start when Swansea City travel to Blackpool this weekend, but Jamie Paterson's fitness is being monitored.

Cabango played 90 minutes for the Swans in the midweek Carabao Cup tie against Oxford United as he skippered the side, while Allen played the final 30 minutes at the Kassam Stadium.

Paterson, however, did not make the Tuesday night trip to The Kassam Stadium and Martin confirmed they will access the 30-year-old on Friday.

“Both Joe Allen and Ben Cabango are ready to start,” he said.

“They recovered from Tuesday and joined in training today. They’re both ready to play now.

“Pato is carrying a little knock, which is why he was on the bench last week and was rested in midweek.

“We’ll assess him on Friday to see if he’ll make it or not.”
