Russell Martin hopes the Swansea.com Stadium will be bouncing on Saturday, and has urged the Jack Army to bring the noise to help his side round off a big week on a high.

The Swans host the Black Cats in SA1 on the back of a run of four wins in their last five games, including an ongoing sequence of three in a row.

Two of those have come since the international break courtesy of come-from-behind victories at West Brom and Watford.

Those results have propelled Swansea into the top six with a quarter of the Championship campaign in the books.

Clearly there is a long way to go, but Martin and his players are building momentum, and the Swans boss is keen to see it continue and to keep making the most of the connection between the team and supporters as they target another positive result after the quick turnaround from midweek.

“We know they (Sunderland) are bringing a big following, and we know the huge part our fans played away from home last Saturday and on Wednesday night,” he said.

“They were incredible, my brothers were in there with them at Watford and they absolutely loved it.

“So, we know their fans will be looking to play their part in the same way ours did, and that ours will be looking to do so again, I am sure.

“I hope we get a lot through the door, and after the last two games - and our last home game against Hull - I am sure there is going to be a brilliant atmosphere and our guys will need that energy after two tough away games and a long week.

“I think it will be a great atmosphere, I am certain that will help the game.

“We know it will be a tough one, but if we play with the same honesty and intensity the guys have shown for a while now, then we back ourselves to get a good result.”
