Spurs or Rochdale next if Swans progress

Swansea City will host either Tottenham Hotspur or Rochdale in the quarter-final of the Emirates FA Cup if they win their fifth-round replay against Sheffield Wednesday.

For the third successive round, the Swans face a replay at the Liberty Stadium having drawn the original tie on the road.

And the reward on offer when they host the Owls will be another game in SA1 against either Spurs or League One side Rochdale, who must also replay after drawing 2-2 at Spotland on Sunday.

Rochdale took a shock lead against Mauricio Pochettino's team through Ian Henderson, but goals from Lucas Moura and Harry Kane seemed set to send the Premier League giants through until a stoppage-time equaliser from home striker Steve Davies.

Should the Swans overcome Wednesday, they will be looking forward to a first home FA Cup draw since they faced Arsenal on their own patch way back in 2012-13.

The Swans have not reached the last eight of the cup since they got to the semi-finals in 1963-64.

They came closest to finding a breakthrough at Hillsborough when Mike van der Hoorn’s point-blank header was saved by keeper Cameron Dawson.

Details of when the replay will take place will be confirmed as soon as possible.
