Swansea City Women’s forward Stacey John-Davis was delighted to be back on the scoresheet after her brace helped her side to a 5-0 win over The New Saints Women.

Katy Hosford gave the Swans an early lead when she coolly finished after six minutes, before John-Davis made it two with her first goal from open play of 2024.

Sammy Wynne got the third after the break with a headed effort, before John-Davis scored a fourth and her second of the game; winning the ball back in the TNS box before firing home.

Substitute Chloe Chivers rounded off the scoring with five minutes to play when she fired a low effort home and secured a top-four place for the Swans ahead of the second phase of the Genero Adran Premier.

John-Davis was pleased to be among the goals, but was quick to praise the all-round team performance after Swansea made it 13 wins from 14 games.

“We are all really buzzing, it’s nice to keep the run going. Personally it’s nice to get on the scoresheet but three points is the main thing and we are all really happy,” said John-Davis.

“It was a relief to get the goal, I’ve had a tough run of a few weeks with a bit of a goal drought, when that first one goes in it clicks. I just had to keep making those runs, getting into those spaces and thankfully it went in.

“Getting that goal helped to settle me down a bit, it’s something you’re always thinking about as a forward and there is pressure to be scoring so, once it went in, it was nice to relax and get on with the game.

“We are all working together as a team, we’ve got Chelsea [Herbert] in goal keeping another clean sheet, which is brilliant, the back four has been solid despite some changes, so as a team we are really happy."
