Ahead of Swansea City Women's first Swansea.com Stadium fixture of the season against Briton Ferry on Sunday, we took a look back on some of the most memorable games held in the stadium so far.

Swansea City Women 2 Cardiff Metropolitan Women 0 - September 4, 2022

Stacey John

Swansea City Women began their title defence with a winning start as they defeated Cardiff Met 2-0 at the Swansea.com Stadium in front of a then-record crowd for women's football in Wales.

Goals from Katy Hosford and Stacey John in either half secured all three points for the Swans, who opened their campaign in front of 1,426 supporters.

It was the visitors, managed by current Swans head coach Yzzy Taylor, who thought they had taken an early lead. Cardiff Met captain Steph Turner, who joined Swansea the following season, slotted home following the second phase of a corner, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Swansea's first opportunity also came from a corner, with Hosford's delivery finding Jess Williams, whose glancing header drifted wide.

The Swans eventually broke the deadlock through Hosford. Monet Legall played the forward through on goal, and she drove towards the penalty area before shifting the ball onto her left foot and firing past current Swansea goalkeeper Amelia Forkings.

John came close to doubling the lead before the break, trying her luck from distance, but Forkings produced an excellent diving save to turn the effort behind for a corner.

The winger would get her goal in the second half, however, with Kelly Adams providing a perfectly weighted chipped pass over the Cardiff Met defence. John ran onto the ball down the right before producing a sensational lob over Forkings and into the far side of the net to double Swansea's advantage.

Cardiff Met threatened a late response when a long ball sent Shannon Evans through one-on-one with Claire Skinner, but the Swansea goalkeeper stood firm and produced a superb save to preserve the clean sheet for Ceri Phillips' side.

Swansea City Women 2 Wrexham Women 1 - November 19,  2023

Katy Hosford

Swansea City Women fought back from a goal down to claim a 2-1 victory over Wrexham in front of more than 3,859 fans at the Swansea.com Stadium.

Wrexham took the lead through Carra Jones, but second-half goals from Ellie Lake and Katy Hosford completed the comeback and secured all three points for the Swans.

Swansea started brightly and created an early opportunity inside the opening five minutes. A delivery from the right found Hosford, but the forward was unable to guide her header on target.

However, it was Wrexham who broke the deadlock in the 10th minute. After the Swans lost possession inside their own penalty area, Amber Lightfoot saw her initial effort parried away by goalkeeper Claire Skinner, only for Jones to react quickest and tap home the rebound.

Swansea continued to push for an equaliser and almost responded immediately. A superb cross-field pass from Chloe Chivers found Stacey John, who controlled the ball brilliantly before driving into the box, but her effort was straight at Wrexham goalkeeper Delyth Morgan.

The Swans continued to press after the break and drew level ten minutes into the second half. Lake drove infield from right-back before unleashing a low effort from around 20 yards, which bounced beyond Morgan and into the net.

Chris Church's side thought they had taken the lead just two minutes later when Chivers struck the post with a long-range effort. The rebound fell to Robyn Pinder, who slotted home, but the goal was ruled out for offside.

Swansea did not have to wait long to find the breakthrough, however. A beautifully chipped pass from Nieve Rowbottom sent Hosford through on goal, and the forward made no mistake, powering her finish past Morgan to put the Swans ahead.

The home side pushed for a third late on, with Lucy Finch and Monet Legall both looking to add to the scoreline, but Swansea held firm to secure an important victory.

Swansea City Women 1 Cardiff City Women 0 - October 6, 2024

Stacey John

Swansea City Women extended their four-game unbeaten streak with a 1-0 victory in the south Wales derby at the Swansea.com Stadium.

A second-half goal from Stacey John secured victory for Jamie Sherwood's side, who created chances in both halves to add to their lead.

The Swans started the strongest, with Emily Thomas forcing goalkeeper Cory Chamberlain into the first save of the match on the 10-minute mark.

Chances for Robyn Pinder, Steph Turner and Katy Hosford all went amiss in the first half, while Cardiff had opportunities of their own through Lisa Owen, who struck wide early on, and Ffion Price, who forced Claire Skinner into a save just before half-time.

The first big chance of the second half fell to Swansea through John, but her looped effort was blocked inside the area.

John did not have to wait long for her goal, however, showing composure in front of goal as she pounced on a loose ball before driving towards goal, beating the goalkeeper and firing into the back of the net.

Chloe Chivers and Jess Williams both went close to doubling the Swans' lead, while Williams proved decisive at the other end late on, making a vital interception to prevent Eliza Collie from breaking through on goal and forcing the ball safely into Skinner's hands.

Substitute Thomas then produced a remarkable finish, lobbing Barry goalkeeper Molly Arnesen from the byline, before Chivers completed her hat-trick with another effort from outside the area.
