Stephen Eustáquio | It was amazing to play in front of the fans

Stephen Eustáquio was delighted to make his home debut in the midweek win over Watford and believes there is plenty more to come from Swansea City this season.

Ji-sung Eom and Adam Idah were both on target as the Swans continued their unbeaten start to the league season, going without defeat across their opening four games for the first time since 2020.

The midfielder, who joined from Portuguese giants Porto last week, made his second appearance for the club after making an impressive debut in the weekend victory at Derby County.

Eustáquio produced another assured display in the heart of midfield, helping to break up play and launch counter-attacks, while also playing a part in the build-up to the opening goal.

And the Canadian international was delighted to mark his first appearance at the Swansea.com Stadium with another three points and a clean sheet.

“I think the team performed really well,” he said.

“To keep another clean sheet was really important. We had a lot of good moments and, with the quality of the players we have, when we had opportunities to score, we took them well.

“I want to congratulate the boys because it was a game where we had a lot more chances to score. There was a lot of responsibility on the pitch, and now we need to keep going.

“It was an amazing experience. I loved playing in front of the fans. They were very passionate, very loud, and they helped us a lot in pushing for the victory.

“We’ve started very well this season, but at the same time we know we have a lot of work to do. There are a lot of things we need to continue improving, so it’s a case of getting back to work and looking ahead to the next game.”

The Swans now return to the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday night when they welcome Wrexham to SA1.

And Eustáquio is hoping Swansea can continue their winning momentum with the backing of the Jack Army.

“It’s a big game. We feel confident, but we know we’re going to be up against a very good team,” he added.

“I’m sure it will be a good game, but with the strength our fans will give us, I believe we will perform well again.”
