Steve Cooper | Consistency is the key

Head coach Steve Cooper believes consistency is the key for Swansea City as they look to continue their good run of form against Stoke City this afternoon (3pm).

The Swans head to the bet365 Stadium on the back of a sequence of results that has seen them lose just one of their last eight Championship games.

During that run they have kept four clean sheets and have put themselves firmly in the play-off picture as the final stretch of the season draws near.

Swans boss Cooper is pleased with what he is seeing from his side, but is keen to keep the focus on the here and now rather than pay too much attention to form.

But he is well aware of the importance of putting together a consistent run of performances and results.

“I don’t want to speak too soon about things like momentum because we know what this league is like,” he said.

“Whatever is in front of us we try and deal with it exactly the same. Consistency is a real key aspect to this league.

“It’s really important to focus on what’s next, and we’ve got a tough game against Stoke.

“We won’t be playing the position in the league, we’re playing the team in front of us.

“You look at Stoke’s team on paper and it’s right up there in terms of experience and quality. “We’ll appreciate that like we do in every game. I was at West Brom on Monday night and they were very hard to play through.

“We know that we’ve got to get every part of our game right to give ourselves the chance to win. If we get it right we can have a good day.”
