Steve Cooper saluted the Jack Army after they roared Swansea City on to victory in his first game as head coach.

Cooper saw his side fall behind in just the third minute as Kamil Grosicki’s deflected strike found the far corner of Freddie Woodman’s net.

But they kept going and eventually got their reward for their dominance of the general flow of the game as quickfire second-half goals from Borja Baston and Mike van der Hoorn secured all three points against the Tigers.

Cooper made a point of acknowledging the Swans’ support at the full-time whistle, and he spoke of his pride at the manner in which they had backed his players.

Hull celebrations

“Everyone has told me since I joined the club how supportive these supporters are and if there was ever an example of it, then today was that.

“It was incredible and I felt very proud of how they got behind the team.

“I know sometimes it is easy to say that to try and get supporters onside, but it was the truth today. They were absolutely brilliant.”
