Steve Cooper praised the quality of Swansea City’s attacking display as they romped into the fifth round of the FA Cup with a 5-1 thumping of Nottingham Forest at the Liberty Stadium.

First-half goals from Liam Cullen and Matt Grimes put the hosts in control, before Forest pulled one back early in the second half through Anthony Knockaert.

But Grimes quickly responded from the spot, before Cullen and Oliver Cooper completed the scoring to send the Swans into the last 16.

And head coach Cooper was delighted with some of the football on display from his side.

“It’s a fantastic scoreline, we are through to the next round, which was the main objective of the day,” he said.

“We had players making their debut, young players scoring and loads of loads of pluses from the game.

“I didn’t love our start to the second half, we took too long to get back into our rhythm.

“But I don’t want to dwell on that, there were too many positives in the game and things for us to be really pleased about.

“We scored some great goals today, they were not just good finishes, some of our build-up play and tactical moves were really good.

“I have not seen them all back but the first goal in particular, starting with Freddie and working our way down the sides, with the quality to cross and finish was really pleasing.

“We scored four really good goals today, and showed good play to get into the situation for the penalty.”
