Steve Cooper has vowed Swansea City will be ready to meet the challenge of facing league leaders West Brom at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon (3pm).

The head coach and his side enter the final 10 games of the season sitting just four points off the Championship play-off places.

The Baggies, meanwhile, have their sights set on winning the Championship title and booking a return to the Premier League through automatic promotion.

With the margins still tight and the final run-in now upon the promotion hopefuls, both sides will be aware of the importance of a positive result at the Liberty Stadium.

And Cooper wants his side to be bold and assertive as they look to gain the upper hand having been beaten at The Hawthorns earlier in the season.

“You have to play these games against teams at the top of the table at some stage of the season, but it’s no different to playing a side at the bottom or in the middle of the table,” he said.

“You have to earn the right in every game but I go back to it; there are 10 games to go and we are four points off the play-offs.

“There are only three points at stake on Saturday, nothing more, nothing less, regardless of who you play.

“So, we have to go for it. Yes, West Brom are top of the league and have some outstanding players but we are only focused on ourselves.

“We know they have strength in depth, but you play every team at some point of the season, and now is the time to focus on ourselves.

“They are coming to us and we need to be ready to play. I know we will be.”
