Swans Ladies close gap at the top
6th January
Swansea City Ladies closed the gap at the top of the table following a 4-1 win over PILCS.
The Swans stormed into a three-goal lead in the first half thanks to a brace from Jodie Passmore and a Katy Hosford strike.
PILCS pulled one back through Amy Thrupp shortly after the break, but Rachel Rowe extended the Swans' lead even further with another well-take goal.
The visitors finished the game a player light as Fiona Dodge was shown a straight red for a challenge of Lisa Owen inside the box - but Chloe Lloyd hit the post from the resulting spot kick.
Midfielder and goal scorer Katy Hosford said: "It was a really good three points for us.
"The girls fought until the end and got a well-deserved win. The determination was excellent and hopefully we will carry it on for the rest of the season."
