24th March
Swans Ladies secured their place in the final of the FAW Women's Cup with a 5-0 victory over Cyncoed Ladies.
The Swans took the lead after only four minutes when a cross from Katy Hosford found Emma Beynon in the box and she calmly slotted the ball into the net.
Six minutes later another encouraging run down the left from Hosford led to Beynon converting for her second goal of the game within the opening ten minutes.
Five minutes after the restart the Swans added a third goal as a cross from Emma Beynon was met by Hosford who found the back of the net to finish off a fine counter attacking move.
Cyncoed continued to battle well and a cleanly struck free kick was held by Swans keeper Ffion Ashman.
The Swans found themselves on the attack again in the final stages of the game when Beynon accelerated down the right wing and found the feet of Chloe Lloyd who slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
And in stoppage time the Swans added a fifth as left back Amanda John raced down the wing and her cross was met with a volley at the far post by Beynon for her hat-trick.
"It was a really good game as the team were striving to reach our second cup final of the season," said Emma Beynon. "Credit to Cyncoed, who battled well and never gave up. I felt we kept the ball well as a team and I am really happy to have scored my first hat-trick for the club.
"I am looking forward to the final and a derby against Cardiff City - itshould be an exciting game."
