Swans shortlisted in ticketing industry awards
Swansea City have been shortlisted for the Impact Award at the industry-leading TheTicketingBusiness Technology Awards.
The Swans are among the nominees for the club's ‘In-App Season Ticketing’ initiative in a category which judges best migration, upgrade, integration or new implementation project
TheTicketingBusiness Awards recognise leadership, innovation and achievement in the application of ticketing across sports, performing arts, music, cinema, live entertainment and visitor attractions.
The Awards aim to increase the standards and best practice of ticketing, drive awareness and adoption of future ticketing technology, and improve the customer experience for ticket-buyers across all sectors.
The Swans were the first football club in the UK to launch in-app ticketing for supporters. As well as individual match tickets, the functionality also allows season ticket holders to store their season card on the official Swans app to gain entry at the Liberty Stadium on matchday.
Swansea City’s Head of Digital, Rebecca Edwards-Symmons, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for such a prestigious award in a category that encompasses some of Europe’s leading ticketing professionals.
“The club has achieved a number of ‘firsts’ in UK football in relation to in-app ticketing over the last 18 months and it’s an honour to receive industry recognition.
“The official Swans app has become an integral part of the club’s ticketing strategy and we will continue to develop our technology to enhance and improve the supporter experience.’’

It’s not the first time the official Swans app has received recognition from the technology industry after being shortlisted for top awards at the Sports Business Awards, Sports Technology Awards (two categories) Design Week Awards and Football Business Awards.
