Swans sweat over Sam injury

Swansea City must wait to discover the extent of Sam Clucas’s injury after the midfielder limped off at Manchester United.

Clucas is a concern for Carlos Carvalhal ahead of next weekend’s trip to bottom-club West Brom after he picked up a knee problem in the 2-0 loss at Old Trafford.

But Carvalhal says it is too early to say whether Clucas faces a lay-off.

“Sam has twisted his knee and we think he has injured the ligament on the outside of his knee,” said the Swans boss.

“We don’t know yet what the problem is. We will have to wait for a scan to see how bad it is, but I hope it is not a serious injury.”
