Swansea Cardiff City Ladies

9th November

Swansea City Ladies continued their unbeaten run on Sunday with a 2-1 victory over league rivals Cardiff City Ladies at Baglan Boys and Girls Club.
Both sides had plenty of chances in the first half but the defences remained resilient.
Cardiff had an excellent opportunity to take the lead following a corner after 15 minutes, but midfielder Kelly Newcombe made some vital blocks to prevent the visitors from taking the lead.
Cardiff took the lead in the 42nd minute as Swansea keeper Ffion Ashman failed to keep out a chipped effort.
The Swans equalised ten minutes after the break via Katy Hosford, who found the top corner with a fierce strike.
Shortly after, the home side took the lead through substitute Jodie Passmore, who chipped the keeper following great play from Emma Beynon.
Cardiff attempted to level the score, but skipper Alicia Powe and Carrie Slack kept the Swans' lead in tact.
Despite Cardiff pushing for an equaliser, the hosts kept their composure and dominated the remainder of the match until the final whistle.

Swans line-up: Ashman, Powe, Slack, John (Ridings 82), Hughes, Adams, Beynon, Newcombe, Hancocks, Hosford, Davies (Passmore 55).
