Aaron Lewis insists the young Swans involved in Tuesday night's Checkatrade Trophy defeat against Wimbledon will come back stronger from the loss.
The 18-year-old defender was one of seven development players included in a youthful starting line-up as they suffered a 3-0 defeat against the League One side at Kingsmeadow.
Despite the Group B South loss, Lewis believes the game will be a valuable learning experience as the youngsters face experienced EFL clubs.
"It was a good test for everyone against a solid League One side," said Lewis. "Everyone put in a good shift for a large part of the game but we were outplayed at times by a side who were more clinical in the final third.
"We started quite well but Wimbledon were more used to the physical side of the game. We know that is something we will have to work on before our next group match.
"A defeat like this is disappointing, especially after going three games unbeaten in the league, but we have definitely gained something from our game against Wimbledon.
"Whether it is to be more physical in attack and defence, more clinical or to move the ball faster, we are going to learn from this defeat.
"A League One side were never going to be push overs. We just have to learn from this and get back to our form before our next league game."
