Swansea City AFC Foundation is delighted to announce its acquisition of the club's Player Development Centres and has now opened bookings for the four locations.

The Player Development Centres – formerly controlled by Swansea City Academy – offer those aged between six and eight an opportunity to develop their skills within a professional environment.

The Foundation is committed to developing the talent in young footballers and these Player Development Centres provide a direct pathway into the Swansea City Academy for outstanding performers.

The fundamentals of the Player Development Centres are as follows:

  • Player pathway feeding into the Swansea City Academy.
  • Elite Level FA and UEFA qualified coaching.
  • Experienced coaches who work across Swansea City Foundation and Swansea City AFC Academy.
  • Coaching ethos and style mirroring Swansea City AFC Academy.
  • Opportunities for children of all levels.
  • Fun, inspiring and safe environment for all.

The structure of the pathway can be split into Tier 1 - Soccer Camps, Tier 2 - Player Development Centres and Tier 3 - Elite Talent Centre.

Tier 1 is open to players of all abilities who are keen to join the player development pathway. Tier 2 is our first invite-only Player Development Centre. Children that are consistently performing to a high level in a tier 1 centre will be invited to join tier 2 of the pathway.

For the first block of sessions running through November and December, the Foundation are offering an open invitation to join the Player Development Centres. From 2026 onwards, tier 2 will become exclusive for invited players only.

Tier 3 – The Elite Talent Centre - is based at the Swansea City Academy and sits at the peak of the Player Development Centres.

Children consistently performing to a very high level in tier 2 centres will be invited to attend this centre, where they will be assessed by Academy coaches.

From here, those that are performing to a very high level may be offered an opportunity to enter the Swansea City AFC Pre-Academy or take part in a Talent Identification showcase match organised by Academy recruiters.

The first block of sessions for tier 2 will begin the week commencing November 3 and run for seven weeks at a cost of £52.50, which includes all seven training sessions and one matchday between players from all four centres, hosted at the Joma High Performance Centre.

Locations for the centres are:

Carmarthen - LHP Stadium, SA31 1HE

Swansea - Joma High Performance Centre, SA6 8AX

Rhondda Cynon Taf (RCT) - Maritime Recreation Ground, CF37 1PF
