The annual campaign is now in its fifth year and aims to provide festive cheer to those who require an extra helping hand in the local community. The aim is to create food hampers with a value of £50 each, with a target of creating 500 hampers.
Carolyn Harris MP said: “Every year it is an honour and a privilege to be part of the ‘Everyone Deserves a Christmas’ campaign. Being able to support those that need it most and ensuring that nobody goes without is so important.
“This year we are aiming to reach over 1,000 households, providing festive hampers, cooked dinners and treats for the children. But we can only do this thanks to the help and generosity of individuals and businesses across Swansea and beyond.
“I was delighted when John Pye came forward and offered to donate the proceeds of their upcoming auction to the campaign. This gesture will go a long way to helping us reach our target and I am so thankful to them for their support.”
Swansea City chief executive Julian Winter added: “We are delighted to be able to support with additional fundraising for this important campaign. We are grateful to our partner John Pye for hosting this auction and it truly shows the sense of community surrounding our football club.
“This campaign is close to our hearts and we have the ability to relieve any stress for those in our community this Christmas, so we are grateful for any support towards this campaign.”
Adam Pye, Managing Director at John Pye Auctions said: “We are humbled to be able to support Swansea City and the ‘Everyone Deserves a Christmas’ campaign with this exclusive online auction and we hope that with the fan’s help, all of the monies raised from the auction will help to meet their goal of 500 hampers this festive season.”
