Swansea City Arsenal Under-21s Premier League

21st January

Swansea City Under-21s are boosted by the return of four loan players to the squad for their Premier League Division Two trip to Arsenal on Friday (12pm).
Midfielders Josh Sheehan, Adam King, Jay Fulton and forward Oliver McBurnie are back in action with the U21s following spells with Football League clubs Yeovil, Crewe, Oldham and Newport.
A number of players returned to the U21s starting line-up as they beat Yeovil 3-2 in a friendly last week thanks to a goal from Kyle Copp and a brace from McBurnie.
Coach Cameron Toshack expects their return to add strength and depth to the side as they take on one of the league's title contenders.
"We want to be competitive as we move into the second half of the season," he said. "We made individual errors in games before Christmas which we must look to tighten up.
"We have a number of players available to us again after their loans ended, and they will add experience to training and create competition for places.
"Ollie (McBurnie) has had a great first half of the season to be our leading scorer with seven goals. He adds an extra dimension to our game and returned to score two during our friendly win over Yeovil last week.
"We know Arsenal will be a tough challenge - they are currently second in the league with only two defeats so far this season.
"We want to go there and give a good account of ourselves, challenge and hopefully we can start the year on a high."

Toshack also reserved praise for the four development squad players involved in recent duty with the first team as Swansea City played Oxford United in the Emirates FA Cup.
Under-21s captain Liam Shephard and defender Stephen Kingsley both made their Swans debuts, while Under-18s duo Daniel James and Joe Rodon were on the bench.
"It was very pleasing to see a group of Under-21s players break through and earn their senior debuts with the first team this month," added Toshack.
"Despite the result, they gave a great account of themselves. It was also great to see Joe Rodon and Daniel James in the squad.
"It is very pleasing to see the club pushing young players through the team and into competitive football."
