Swansea City complete loan deal for Finley Burns
Swansea City has completed the signing of defender Finley Burns on loan from Manchester City for the remainder of the 2021-22 season, subject to international clearance.
The 18-year-old is Russell Martin’s fourth acquisition of the January transfer window following the arrivals of Andy Fisher, Cyrus Christie and Hannes Wolf.
Burns is a towering central defender, standing at 6’5” and has been with Manchester City since the age of 13 after signing from Southend.
An England Under-18 international, the defender signed his first professional contract with the Premier League side in July 2020 and was a key part of their FA Youth Cup winning team of 2020 and Premier League 2 title win in 2020/21.
Burns has handed his first team debut by Pep Guardiola in Manchester City's 6-1 Carabao Cup win over Wycombe back in September and recently signed a new contract with the Premier League leaders until 2027.
