Swansea City complete loan signing of Gustavo Nunes
Swansea City is pleased to confirm the signing of Gustavo Nunes on a loan through to the end of June 2026, subject to relevant approval.
The exciting and pacy 20-year-old Brazilian joins from Premier League Brentford, and will give Swans head coach Vitor Matos an extra option in the final third.
Nunes will wear the number 18 shirt for the Swans, and trained with his new teammates for the first time on Thursday.
Known for his speed and ability to take on and beat defenders, Nunes is a product of the Gremio youth system, having joined them as a 15-year-old.
Born in the Sao Vicente district of Sao Paulo, he helped Gremio Under-17s to the final of the Brazilian national championship, while he was also a key figure for their under-20s as they went undefeated in their state championship and also reached the national final.
His first-team debut came in February 2024, providing an assist after coming on as a substitute in a draw with Sao Luiz and scored his first goal for the club just six days later.
Brentford swooped for his signature in the August of that year and he has made three Premier League appearances for the Bees, with his top-flight bow coming against Arsenal in April of 2025.
Swansea City head coach Vitor Matos said: “We are very happy to have added Gustavo to our squad.
“We wanted to add someone to the squad who could play on both sides of the pitch, and also provide creativity.
“He is very good one on one and is a very bright talent, we are excited to work with him, help him develop and add something different to our squad.”
Global head of analytics and recruitment Adam Worth, said: “We’re really pleased to bring Gustavo Nunes to the club.
“He’s a player we’ve monitored for a while, and one who fits the profile we’ve been targeting.
“Gustavo is a dynamic winger with real pace, excellent one vs one ability and the confidence to carry the ball in attacking areas. We are certain he can add a different dimension to the group, and we’re excited to see his qualities come through in a Swansea shirt.”
