Swansea City defender Brandon Cooper has joined Forest Green Rovers on loan for the remainder of the season, subject to international clearance.

The 22-year-old centre-half links up with Ian Burchnall’s side as they look to avoid relegation from League One following their promotion last term.

It is the fourth loan spell of Cooper’s career, with the Wales Under-21 international having previously had spells with Yeovil Town, Newport County and Swindon Town.

Bridgend-born Cooper has been with the Swans since the age of six, progressing through the ranks all the way to the senior side.

He was handed his first-team bow by Graham Potter in the Carabao Cup clash against Crystal Palace in August 2018, and went on to feature in an FA Cup tie against QPR the following campaign.

Cooper made his Championship debut with a substitute appearance against Derby County in May 2021.

He racked up eight senior appearances under Russell Martin last season, but has yet to feature this term.

Everyone at Swansea City wishes Brandon every success during his loan spell.
