Swansea City fixture release | Championship 2023-24

Swansea City will kick off the 2023-24 Championship campaign by hosting Birmingham City at the Swansea.com Stadium on Saturday, August 5.

It will be the first time the two clubs have met on the opening day of the season, however they’ve faced off in August on a number of occasions – most recently in 2019 with the Swans storming to a 3-0 victory over the Blues in SA1.

Incredibly, this fixture will mark just the fourth time the Swans have played the opening game at home since the Swansea.com Stadium opened in 2005.

The Swans will follow up the season opener against Birmingham with fixtures against West Bromwich Albion (away) followed by Coventry City (home) – while a trip to Preston North End completes the August league schedule.

The south Wales derbies are set for September 16 at the Cardiff City Stadium, with the return game in SA1 on March 16.

The festive fixtures see the Swans face Preston North End at home on Saturday, December 23, before a trip to St Mary's to face Southampton on Boxing Day.

An away fixture at Coventry City follows on December 29 before we bring in the New Year with a home match against West Brom on January 1.

Of all the Championship newcomers, it is Plymouth Argyle who the Swans haven’t met in a league fixture for the longest, with their last league meeting a 1-1 draw in February 2010. The Swans will make a return to Home Park in October before hosting the Pilgrims in February.

Other notable dates include the Easter weekend which will see the Swans travel to Sheffield Wednesday on Good Friday and host Queens Park Rangers on Easter Monday.

The Swans will wait for three of their longest away trips with journeys to Sunderland, Middlesbrough and Norwich City set for February 24, April 6, and April 27 respectively, however a trip to Ipwsich Town will take place on November 11.
