Swansea City AFC Foundation is delighted to welcome 33 new recruits into a revitalised pathway for women’s and girls’ football at Swansea City.

The new format provides girls with the opportunity to join Swansea City from the age of 12 and be supported through an elite pathway that leads all the way up to the women’s first-team.

The Under-13s will compete in a newly formed Football Association of Wales National Academi league, while the Under-15s will play matches in the South Wales Women’s and Girls’ League.

“We are proud to officially welcome our two new girls’ academy teams to Swansea City Women,” said Katy Hosford, head of girls’ football at Swansea City AFC Foundation.

“This is an exciting step forward in the continued growth of our women’s and girls’ programme, and we are thrilled to have such talented young players join our teams.

“A clear pathway from Under-13s to the first-team is essential. It nurtures talent, strengthens our club identity, and inspires players to work hard and aim to play at the highest level they can.

“This development in our pathway shows our dedication to equality, development, and the future of the women’s game at Swansea City”

“We’re excited and ready for the season ahead. It is great to see the players settling in already and working really hard in training. This season offers a fantastic opportunity for growth, development, and success as our young players start their journey with the club. We would like to wish all teams the very best for the season ahead.”
