Swansea City Hertha Berlin International Cup

Swansea City Under-23s have been drawn at home to Hertha Berlin II in the quarter-final of the Premier League International Cup.

The young Swans qualified for the knockout stage of the competition as one of two best placed runner-up teams following a group stage win over Dutch side Feyenoord, plus a draw against Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb.

Goals from Botti Biabi and Daniel James saw the Swans come from behind against Chelsea before Christmas to take a 2-1 win and confirm their quarter-final place.
 
German youngsters, Hertha Berlin topped Group F after a 2-2 draw against Spanish side Athletic Bilbao before wins over Everton and Reading's development teams.
 
A date and location for the game will be confirmed in the coming weeks. The fixtures has to be played by March 1st 2017.
 
Teams competing in the PL International Cup will be made up of Under-23 players, aside from a maximum of three outfield players and the goalkeeper, who can be born before 1 January 1993. 
 
In the knockout stages, the ties are decided in one-off matches, with extra-time and then penalties required if the match is level after 90 minutes.
 
Manchester City won the competition last season with Villarreal B lifting the trophy in it's debut season.
