Swansea City Ladies FAW League Cup

15th December

Swansea City Ladies have progressed to the semi-finals of the FAW League Cup thanks to a 4-0 win over Aberystwyth Town Ladies at Baglan.
The Swans took the lead in the first minute with a Sarah Adams goal, assisted by midfielder Emma Beynon.
Ian Owen's side had plenty of chances, with efforts from Jodie Passmore and Sarah Adams narrowly missing the target.
Beynon doubled Swansea Ladies' lead with a chipped goal from the right flank just after the 20 minute mark.
Aberystwyth's keeper had to pull off some great saves to deny the Swans from strengthening their lead, including a goal-line clearance to prevent striker Katy Hosford.
Beynon scored her second of the match before the break to make the score 3-0 to the hosts.
Swansea showed some impressive attacking play in the second half.
Sophie Hancocks created some excellent chances after Katy Hosford hit both the bar and post.
The Ladies secured the win when a Sarah Adams cross reached Kelly Newcombe to head home the Swans' fourth of the afternoon.
The Swans dominated the game and continued to create chances, including a strike from substitute Katie Davies which hit the woodwork in the final seconds of the match.
