Swansea City Ladies Rhyl Prestatyn

21st January

Swansea City Ladies started 2016 with a 3-0 home win in the league against Rhyl. The Swans took the lead just before the two minute mark with a neat cross from winger Sarah Adams to find Katy Hosford in the box, who slotted home.
The Swans ladies doubled their lead soon after when Jodie Passmore converted a free kick past Rhyl's keeper.
Swansea made it three through Kelly Newcombe, the midfielders shot was deflected into the net by an unfortunate Rhyl defender. The Swans came close to making it four just before the break when Ria Hughes followed up a shot by Jodie Passmore only to be ruled offside.
Both sides fought out a goalless second half with the home side creating a number of chances only to be kept out by Rhyl's defence.
