Nathan Dyer came off the bench for Leicester City in their 1-0 win over Crystal Palace - a result that takes Claudio Ranieri's men to within three points of the leaders.
The winger replaced Riyad Mahrez with 11 minutes to play as the Foxes held on to their lead at the King Power Stadium.
It was Dyer's third appearance for Leicester, who play Hull City in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday night before travelling to West Brom on Saturday.
In League One, Jay Fulton remains unbeaten during his time at Oldham as he helped them gain a point from a 0-0 draw at Rochdale.
The Scottish Under-21s midfielder, who featured for 75 minutes at the weekend, now has five draws and one victory from his six appearances with the Latics, who sit two points above the dropzone.
Oldham are next in action on Saturday when they host high-flying Burton.
Adam King couldn't prevent bottom club Crewe from going down 2-0 at fellow strugglers Blackpool.
The midfielder played for 81 minutes as Crewe, who were without Stephen Kingsley due to a foot injury, sit five points adrift at the bottom.
Next up for Crewe is a home clash with Sheffield United on Saturday.
Josh Sheehan was on the scoresheet while Connor Roberts also featured as Yeovil were beaten 3-2 at home by Cambridge in League Two.
The Glovers found themselves 3-0 behind in the first half before pulling one back before the break.
Sheehan then tapped home at the far post following a corner, in what was his second goal in six appearances for the Glovers, as the game entered a tense finish.
But the visitors held on for victory as Yeovil slipped into the relegation zone following Newport's win at Bristol Rovers.
Yeovil make the long trip to Carlisle on Saturday as they look to climb back out of the dropzone.
Meanwhile, Alex Samuel didn't feature in Morton's 1-0 win over Alloa while Kenji Gorre was an unused substitute as Den Haag drew 1-1 at Cambuur in the Dutch top flight.
