Swansea City is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of the club’s former general manager Gordon Daniels at the age of 94.

Gordon spent 25 years with the club and worked with a number of managers, including Trevor Morris, Roy Bentley, Harry Griffiths and John Toshack, enjoying a particularly warm and close relationship with Griffiths.

He was with the Swans during the remarkable rise from the fourth tier to the top-flight under Toshack, and during the period in the 1980s where the club nearly went out of business.

His passion and affinity for Swansea City were unquestionable and, as a club, we send our sincerest condolences to Gordon’s friends and family at this sad time.
