Swansea City is deeply saddened to learn of the passing of former player Robin Turner at the age of 70.

Robin made a significant contribution in ensuring the Swans avoided relegation from the old Third Division towards the end of the 1984-85 season, having joined from Ipswich Town - where he spent the majority of his career and was part of their FA Cup and UEFA Cup winning squads - in March 1985.

He scored twice in a 4-1 win over Preston on his home debut, and ended up scoring eight goals in 20 league appearances before leaving for Colchester United in November 1985.

Everyone at Swansea City sends their sincerest condolences to Robin’s family and friends at this sad time.
