Caretaker head coach Alan Sheehan says Swansea City are getting nearer to having a full-strength squad ahead of the visit of Preston North End to the Swansea.com Stadium.

Midfielders Joe Allen and Azeem Abdulai have returned to training with the rest of the squad, while Nathan Wood, Kristian Pedersen and Mykola Kuharevich all got game time with the under-21s earlier this week.

Sheehan also confirmed Harrison Ashby is back at Fairwood having returned to Newcastle for an assessment after being forced off against Hull City.

Josh Ginnelly is a longer-term absentee for the Swans.

“Squad wise we are getting closer to full strength,” said Sheehan.

“Joe Allen is getting closer, he is training with the group, as is Azeem. But after a long time out we have to bring them back in the right way.

“Woody is obviously back, and Kristian Pedersen and Mykola Kuharevich had minutes earlier this week, but again we have to bring them back in the right way."
