Swansea City Under-18s Austria pre-season preparation

18th June

Swansea City Under-18s will be heading to Austria for a 14-day training camp as part of their 2016-17 pre-season.
Eric Ramsay and Chris Llewellyn will take their academy squad to Südstadt National Sport and Recreation Centre, based just south of Vienna between Sunday 3 July and Sunday 17 July for fitness preparation and intensive training ahead of the new season.
On top of pre-season training the young Swans will also play three warm-up games whilst based at the location.
The extensive complex offers optimum facilities for a number of sports and is used as a training base for Austrian athletes heading to this summer's Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
As part of their facilities the centre hosts a grass and artificial football pitches, a 50 meter swimming pool, an indoor and outdoor running track and a 12,000 capacity BSFZ Arena.
The scholars will be hoping to build on a successful first season in the category one games programme after finishing top of their tier three merit group before an U19s side lifted the FAW Youth Cup in May.
Details on who the young Swans will face during their two-week stay in Austria will be announced soon.
