Swansea City under-18s FA Youth Cup

8th January

Swansea City Under-18s continue their FA Youth Cup campaign against Newcastle United's youngsters on Monday (7pm).
A double from skipper Liam Cullen saw the young Swans defeat Wolves' academy in the last round before Christmas to set up the fourth-round tie at St James' Park.
A league defeat to table-toppers Chelsea followed that result, but coach Chris Llewellyn wants his young team to respond with an improved performance.
"We will need to be at our best if we want to progress in the competition," he said. "So we know the level we need to be at.
"As a team we are looking forward to the game. We delivered a good performance against Wolves in December to get to where we are now and can go to Newcastle with plenty of belief and confidence.

"Our defeat against Chelsea was disappointing, but it was always going to be tough against the side that is top of the table and 13 games unbeaten.
"They have a fantastic academy set up and we have to learn from the game and take our improvements into Monday. We will refocus and aim to deliver a much better performance.
"I want us to give a good account of ourselves, play well, pass the ball like we know we can and look strong in attack.
"Playing at St. James' Park is a huge opportunity for our young players. Many of them will never have played in a stadium environment so our young players must make the most of the opportunity."
