Swansea City Under-18s Norwich Premier League play-off

12th March

A late goal from striker Jordan Garrick secured Swansea City Under-18s a 1-0 win over Norwich in their Barclays Premier League group 3 play-off at Colney Training Ground on Saturday.
The young Swans struggled to create chances in the first half as the Canaries could have taken a lead into the break had it not been for their effort hittng the post and crossbar.
But the scholars rallied after half time to work their way back into the game. Wingers Liam Cullen and Edwards saw their chances saved.
Norwich were reduced to ten men when a Garrick's attack on goal was impeded by Norwich's defender.
Swansea took advantage of the extra man to take the lead five minutes from time when Garrick volleyed home substitute Causso Darame's cross.

Coach Chris Llewellyn expressed his delight with the win that maintains the Under-18s stay unbeaten in the Premier League group 3 play-off table.
"We were not really at the races in the first half," he said. "Norwich pressed us high up the pitch and stopped us creating chances.
"We showed our character in the second half and responded well. We took control of the game, started to create chances and eventually got the goal we were working for.
"We have kept the momentum going off the back of our cup victory midweek with a good win we worked hard for.
"Our victory over Norwich will see us go into the tournament in South Africa with confidence."
