Swansea City Under-18s Southampton Causso Darame

5th November

A second half strike from winger Causso Darame helped Swansea City Under-18s secure a 1-1 draw against Southampton at Landore in Premier League South on Saturday.
Swansea fell behind in the first minute as Saints winger Harlem Hale's shot hit the post allowing Siph Mdlalose to fire home inside the area from close range.
The early goal ignited the home side into attack and could have pulled level after a quarter of an hour as Liam Cullen's curling effort from the edge of the area rattled the crossbar.
The young Swans continued to press, Cullen turned his man on the half hour mark to test Saints keeper Neil Osburne with a good save to deny the under-18s captain.
Southampton defender Yan Valery tested the Swans defence with a dangerous cross before Causso Darame's shot was denied by Osburne minutes before the break.
In the second half Swans keeper Ross Treacy's superb save denied Aaron O'Driscoll effort inside the area.
Swansea continued to look for a way past the Saints' defence and finally found the break through on 66 minutes when Ollie Cooper's ball found Darame to fire home from inside the area.
Cullen fired a shot narrowly over the bar in the closing stages before Swans defender Rydian Williams' superb block on the line denied a stoppage time Southampton attack before the full time whistle.
