Swansea City Under-19s Metropolitan Premier Cup Causso Darame

26th March

A double from Causso Darame helped Swansea City Under-19s beat local side Avendale Athletico in the last 16 of the Metropolitan Premier Cup on Saturday evening.
The Swans started brightly in the windy conditions at Erica Park with a number of chances on goal in the first fifteen minutes.
The Under-19s broke the deadlock when Causso Darame was fouled in the area, the winger stepped-up to fire home from the penalty spot on 23 minutes.
Jack Watts extended the Swans lead five minutes later, the midfielders' corner curling straight into the net before Matt Blake's screamer from the edge of the area gave Swansea a 3-0 lead at the break.
Avendale tested Lewis Thomas in the early stages of the second half but Swansea defended well and controlled the game.
The Under-19s saved the best until last as Darame cut in from the wing to unleash a powerful 25 yard effort that arrowed into the top corner to secure a 4-0 win.
The young Swans now progress to the quarter-final stage of the competition on Sunday.
