Swansea City Under-19s Metropolitan Premier Cup Ross Treacy

26th March

A goalless draw against Cape Town side Stephanian Ottery secured the Under-19s place in the last 16 of the Metropolitan Premier Cup on Saturday.
The young Swans had to battle gale force winds at Erica Park to earn a vital point that left the side second in group G with six points.
Both teams created few chances due to the difficult conditions but it was Swansea who came closest to breaking the deadlock.
Defender Joe Rodon headed just over on 12 minutes before hitting the crossbar early in the second half, substitute Causso Darame also fired a free-kick narrowly wide.

Goalkeeper Ross Treacy pulled off a vital double save to deny the local side before the Irishman had to be substituted midway through the second-half after taking an elbow to the face during a save that kept the score level ensuring the Under-19s progressed to the next round.
