Swansea City Under-21s Aston Villa Premier League

18th October

Swansea City Under-21s return to Premier League Division Two action against Aston Villa at Landore on Monday afternoon (1.30pm).
The development squad drew their last league game 1-1 away at Newcastle thanks to an Oliver McBurnie penalty while Villa were beaten 1-0 at home by West Brom.
Swansea took advantage of the three-week league break to play friendly matches against Liverpool and Bath University, and U21s coach Gary Richards has called on the squad to pick-up where they left off.
"It is good to be back after the international break," he said. "We need to make sure we hit the ground running going into our next two games.
"The friendlies we had against Liverpool and Bath University have been beneficial to keep the squad match fit.
"We earned a good point against Newcastle in our last league game and we need to build on that going into Monday's match.
"Villa will be a good test. Our main objective will be to maintain our performance levels that gained us our three wins this season. If the team performance is good the result will come."
The young Swans are boosted by the return of defender Joe Rodon and midfielder Daniel James, with the duo back in contention following injuries.
