Steve Cooper says Swansea City will wait to see the extent of George Byers’ ankle injury after the midfielder was forced off in the defeat against Derby.

Byers started the game for the Swans, but was limping before the break with goalscorer Yan Dhanda replacing him at half-time.

Head coach Cooper is waiting to discover the nature of the injury, with there being a quick turnaround before the Swans are back in action on Tuesday, when QPR visit the Liberty Stadium.

“George has an ankle problem, I don’t know the extent of it yet, it’s early days,” he said.

“I’m not sure if he rolled his ankle or got a kick on it but he couldn’t carry on.

“We’ll see in the next day or two.”
