Swansea City will face Bournemouth at home in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

The Swans earned their place in round two with a victory over Northampton Town on Tuesday evening, while Bournemouth enter the competition at this stage along with the other Premier League sides who are not playing in European competitions this season.

The Cherries are a familiar opponent for the Swans, who have faced the south-coast club more than 60 times since their first meeting in January 1924.

Among those meetings is a first-round League Cup contest during the 1979-80 season, which saw the Swans advance 4-1 on aggregate after a handsome first-leg win at The Vetch was followed by a goalless draw on their travels in the second leg.

More recently, the past three meetings between the two sides in SA1 have ended in draws.

Carabao Cup second-round matches are due to take place on the week commencing August 28, with the date, kick-off time and ticketing details to be confirmed in due course.
