Swans Women u17s v Tredegar

Swansea City Women Under-17s secured the south Wales Women’s and Girls’ title for their age group with an 8-4 win over Tredegar.

The young Swans ended their inaugural season in top spot after claiming the victory they needed in their final league fixture.

After a dominant start, a quickfire brace from Florence Tarrant set them on their way, before Sophia Bevan made it 3-0 after 26 minutes.

Megan Williams and Bevan would add further goals to make it 5-0 at the break.

Ellie Gibbins stretched the advantage early in the second half, before Tredegar responded with a pair of set-piece goals by Mae Williams.

Megan Williams added two more goals for the Swans to seal her hat-trick, and neither a late own goal or Mae Williams completing her hat-trick for the opposition could deny Swansea.

The young Swans will now look to complete a double when they face Barry Town United in the South Wales Women’s and Girls’ League Cup final next weekend.
