Swansea City's Marc Walsh signs first pro deal

18th July

Swansea City youngster Marc Walsh has signed his professional contract with the club.

The 18-year-old has put pen to paper on terms for the 2019-20 season.

Walsh recently completed his two-year scholarship with the Swans, who he joined from Irish side Finn Harps in August 2017.

The Republic of Ireland under-18 international made 17 appearances in Premier League South during his first year in South Wales – scoring in victories over Reading and Aston Villa.

He played a further 18 times for the academy side last term, while he was also part of the under-19s squad that won a record-breaking 10th consecutive FAW Youth Cup.

After appearing on the bench against Blackburn earlier in the season, Walsh also briefly made his debut for the development side as a substitute in their Premier League Cup semi-final defeat by Everton at the Liberty Stadium.
