Cancer affects us all. Recent figures suggest one in every two people will be diagnosed with a form of cancer at some stage in their lifetimes.

It does not discriminate and despite the considerable improvements in treatment, a diagnosis remains a devastating event.

Its impact is felt by the patient themselves, but also extends to family, friends, carers, medical professionals and many more people.

The battle with cancer is one that requires us all to unite, and the ‘Tackling Cancer Together’ initiative – launched in conjunction Swansea City’s charity partner Maggie’s as we unveiled our striking third kit - will also include an opportunity for people to come together and share their stories about their own cancer experiences.

Throughout the 2023-24 season there will be a page on our official website dedicated to your stories. You can view the page, which will also include a donation link for Maggie’s below.

Opening the page will bring up a digital version of the third shirt. Each coloured spot within the shirt design represents the type of common cancer associated with each colour shown, and matches the ribbons linked to each primary cancer.

This page will provide a platform to share your story – whether you are or have been a cancer patient, a medical professional, a carer, a friend or a family member of someone affected by this terrible disease.

You can submit your story anonymously if you would prefer, and an option will exist to tell your story even if your cancer experience is not covered by any of the coloured spots features on the kit.

When we wear this shirt, we will carry your stories with us.

Swansea City, Maggie’s, the Jack Army and you: We are Tackling Cancer Together.
