Team news | Exeter City v Swansea City

20th July
First team
Matt Grimes

Matt Grimes skippered Swansea City against his hometown club as head coach Steve Cooper made four changes for the pre-season friendly against Exeter City.

Grimes was born and raised in Exeter, and played for the Grecians before making his move to Swansea in January of 2015.

He leads a side which sees Erwin Mulder make his first appearance of pre-season in goal, with Kyle Naughton starting at right-back as Connor Roberts drops to the bench.

The back four is otherwise unchanged from that which started the midweek win at Yeovil, as Joe Rodon, Mike van der Hoorn and Jake Bidwell all start once again.

Barrie McKay

George Byers comes into midfield ahead of Jay Fulton to partner Grimes, with Barrie McKay coming in for Wayne Routledge as the winger forms an attacking trio along with Bersant Celina and Nathan Dyer.

They will provide support to striker Oli McBurnie.

Ben Cabango and Borja Baston are named among the substitutes, with Cian Harries and Courtney Baker-Richardson not in the travelling party.
