Team news | Oxford United v Swansea City

9th August
First team
Brentford B Ben Cabango

Ben Cabango captains Swansea City on his return from injury while Joe Allen is named among the substitutes in a much-changed line-up for the Carabao Cup clash at Oxford.

Cabango is handed the armband as he makes his first appearance since suffering an ankle ligament injury against Bournemouth in April.

Allen, meanwhile, is included in a matchday squad for the first time since re-signing for his boyhood club, having recovered from a hamstring injury picked up on international duty.

Steven Benda, Cabango, Nathanael Ogbeta, Matty Sorinola, Ollie Cooper, Cameron Congreve and Liam Cullen all come into the side for the game at the Kassam Stadium.

Ryan Manning, Jay Fulton, Harry Darling and Joel Latibeaudiere are the players to keep their places following the weekend defeat to Blackburn.

Steven Benda starts in goal for the first time in over 10 months, with a back four of Latibeaudiere, Cabango, Darling and Manning making up a back four in front of the German.

Cooper, Fulton and Congreve will dovetail in midfield, with Ogbeta and Sorinola expected to offer width in attack as Cullen leads the line.

Cooper and Ogbeta's selections mean they start a competitive fixture for Swansea for the first time.

A youthful bench includes a number of potential debutants in the form of Archie Matthews, Ben Lloyd, Josh Thomas, Azeem Abdulai and Joel Cotterill.
