Ronald cele QPR

Ronald set the tone with a goal inside two minutes as the Swans claimed consecutive away league victories for the first time in the 2025-26 season.

Jay Fulton’s pass split the QPR defence, allowing the Brazilian to find the net and give Vitor Matos’s side an immediate advantage.

Swansea largely controlled proceedings, restricting their hosts to limited opportunities while their pressing forced mistakes. Leo Walta, Adam Idah, Josh Tymon and Liam Cullen all threatened to extend the lead before Zan Vipotnik converted from the penalty spot after Jisung Eom was fouled in the area.

The Slovenian’s 24th goal of the campaign looked to have settled the contest and, although Rhys Norrington-Davies pulled one back in the closing seconds, the Swans held firm to secure the points and extend their unbeaten run at Loftus Road to seven matches.

QPR celebration

A fifth successive league victory followed for Swansea as they produced another assured performance on their travels to Loftus Road.

The visitors took the lead when Morgan Fox inadvertently turned Liam Cullen’s effort into his own net, rewarding a first-half display in which the Swans had kept QPR at arm’s length.

Their advantage doubled after the break as Harry Darling and Josh Key converged at the far post to force home a deflected cross, with the final touch appearing to come from the full-back.

Kader Dembele reduced the deficit, but Swansea saw out the closing stages to make it five league wins on the bounce for the first time since 2007.

The run also brought them level with their best sequence of league form since the nine consecutive victories achieved during the 1999-2000 Third Division title-winning season.

Borja Baston QPR

Steve Cooper’s Swansea City continued their unbeaten opening to the campaign with an impressive victory in the capital, courtesy of goals from Bersant Celina, Borja Baston and Sam Surridge.

Celina provided the breakthrough with a composed finish after racing through on goal, but QPR restored parity just beyond the hour mark when Jordan Hugill glanced home a header.

The response was immediate. Jordon Garrick, making his league debut as a substitute, won a penalty which Baston confidently converted before Surridge headed in his first goal for the club to put the result beyond doubt.

It was only Swansea’s third league away win of 2019 and a welcome response to their 4-0 defeat at the same ground the previous April.

Wilfred Bony QPR

Wilfried Bony began the New Year as he had finished the previous one, finding the net in stoppage time to rescue a point for Garry Monk’s side.

QPR had taken the lead through Leroy Fer, whose fierce 25-yard effort flew beyond Lukasz Fabianski in the first half. Swansea’s task became more difficult when Wayne Routledge was dismissed in the closing minutes for violent conduct following a challenge from Karl Henry.

Despite being reduced to 10 men, the visitors continued to search for an equaliser. Ki Sung-yueng supplied Bony, who turned sharply before firing into the top-left corner to send the travelling supporters into raptures.

The strike was Bony’s 20th Premier League goal in the 2014 calendar year, making him the division’s leading scorer over that period. It would also prove to be his final Swansea goal before his move to Manchester City.

QPR celebrations 2012

Swansea announced themselves in emphatic fashion on the opening weekend of the 2012-13 Premier League season, sweeping QPR aside with a five-star performance under Michael Laudrup.

Michu opened the scoring when Rob Green failed to deal with his speculative effort, and Nathan Dyer doubled the advantage after the break.

Michu then curled home a delightful third - and his second - following a neat pass from Wayne Routledge.

Dyer completed his own brace after Swansea worked the ball forward through a slick passing move, before Scott Sinclair completed the rout with a powerful left-footed finish from outside the area.

The 5-0 triumph offered an early glimpse of the attacking football that would become a hallmark of Laudrup’s side, and Swansea could hardly have wished for a more convincing start to their second season in the top flight.

Nathan Dyer QPR

Paulo Sousa’s Swansea City had to settle for a point at Loftus Road after conceding a late equaliser in their pursuit of automatic promotion.

Nathan Dyer appeared to have put the visitors on course for victory just before the hour mark, capitalising on a mistake by Kaspars Gorkss before lifting the ball over on-loan goalkeeper Carl Ikeme.

However, Swansea were unable to protect their lead. Antonio German struck from close range with 19 minutes remaining after the visitors failed to clear a corner, denying them a valuable away win.

The draw moved Swansea up to fourth in the Championship, although a third consecutive league game without victory left little room for further slip-ups as the promotion-chasing pack closed in.
